History of Christianity : Introduction To The Region
The religion differentiates between the base desires of the flesh, which trace from original sin, and the higher needs of the spirit. Christianity involves a call to virtuous actions, such as charity, and places an emphasis on striving to love others and God in the same unconditional manner in which God ioves His creation, expecting nothing material in return.
A good introductory book on Christianity is Steven Reynolds’s Christian Religious Tradition. Other sources include the works of Denise and John Cannody. Reading the New Testament will expose you to the core of Christian belief.
