Israel has a plethora of cultural festivals. The high-brow Israel Festival takes place in Jerusalem in May-June, followed by the Jerusalem Film Festival later in June. Other noteworthy events include the rocking Hebrew Music Celebrations in Arad ; (July), attracting mostly young crowds, the internationally acclaimed Jazz in the Red Sea festival in Eilat (late August), the Akko Fringe Theatre Festival, and the Haifa Film Festival, the last two both taking place during the holiday of Sukkot.
