The castle overlooks the Keziv river. The Nahal Keziv nature reserve contains paay hiking trails along these waters, which originate in the Meron Mountain mass ^d flow west to the sea, Remains of old dams and water mills can still be seen along fte creek, a testimony to the glorious days when its plentiful sources were not diverted for Western Galilee domestic use. To get to the reserve, walk down the path encircling the Montfort hill, or follow the black-and-white markers from the parking lot in Hila.
