Practical Information
Post Office: Manger Sq. (tel. 74 26 68), beside the tourist office. Open Mon.-Wed., Fri., and Sat. 8am-2;30pm, Thurs. 8am-12:30pm. Poste Restante available.
Bus Station: Manger St., 50m northwest of Manger Sq., down the hill toward Jerusalem. Arab buses from Damascus or Jaffa Gate in Jerusalem: #22 and 23 (continues to Hebron), 47 (continues east to Beit Sahur), and 60 (continues to Obediya). To Jerusalem (30min., NISI) last bus back at about 5-6pm. Ask at the food stands for approximate bus departure times. Note that the Hebron bus stops only at Rachel’s Tomb and at the intersection with Paul VI St., 3km west of Manger Sq.
Minibuses: Deheisheh 0*1) from Manger St. behind the police station, heads north to Rachel’s Tomb then south to the Deheisheh refugee camp via the road to Hebron (daily 6am-6pm, every 15-2Omin., NISI). To Beit Sahur from same location (NISI).
Service Taxis: From Jaffa or Damascus Gate in Jerusalem to Manger Sq. until about 7pm (NIS20).
