Virtually no visitors stay overnight in Jericho during the hot and humid summer months. The only lodging option, Hisham’s Palace Hotel, was closed in summer 1993. Down Ein as-Sultan St. in a residential area is the Maxim Restaurant. This all-you-can-eat establishment offers an appetizing selection of salads (NIS6.5O) and meats (NIS12). Along the road to ancient Jericho are numerous outdoor garden restaurants; falafel stands cluster around the main square.
