Once There – Entry
All trains into Cairo stop at Ramses Station. Bus #95 runs from diere to Tahrir Sq. Black and white taxis to Tahrir Sq. cost about LE2. The metro, just opposite the station, will whisk you to Tahrir Sq. for 30pt. To walk, climb the pedestrian overpass in front of the station and walk south on Ramses St., away from the statue of Ramses II. It’s about a half-hour trek from the station to Tahrir Sq.
Buses from the Sinai, Israel, and Jordan usually drop you off at Afabassiya Station in the northern suburb of Abbassiya. To reach Tahrir Sq., hop into a southbound black and white cab (LE2.50-3.50) or walk left down Ramses St. as you leave the station, beyond the overpass, and to the first bus stop on the right. From here most buses pass Ramses Station and many continue to Tahrir Sq.
