Practical Information
Lying 350km east of Alexandria and 230km from Cairo, Port Said is the northeast-em corner of the Delta region. Buses run between Cairo’s Kolali Sq. in front of RamStation and Port Said (4′/2hr.). West Delta goes in either direction (daily every SeS £ and 7pm’ LE10.50). The speedier Superjet runs from Cairo at 7am and ‘ hr n am ro Cairo at 3pm (LE32). Buses also run daily to Raml Station Sq. in Alexan- ShrY the Superjet bus leaves every day at 2:30pm (4*4hr, LE20), The Superjet bus depot is next the train station at the end of Goumhouriya St. Service taxis also run from Cairo’s Kolali Sq (LE6.5O). To reach the service taxi stand in Port Said, take a municipal taxi a El-1.50) and ask for a taxi ugra to the city you wish to reach.
You can also shuttle between Cairo and Port Said by the trains which leave each city daily (2nd-class LE5, with A/C LE10.50). These Cairo-bound trains (4 per day, 4Vi\r ) pass through Ismailiya; there are trains which go to Ismailiya but do not continue to Cairo (3 per day, 2nd-class LEI .70, with A/C LE4.20). There are no trains directly to Alexandria; go from Cairo. To get to the train station go to the southern end of Goumhouriya St. and turn right onto Mustafa Kamel St. The station will be about lkm down, on your left.
